--- From The Blog

Don’t let your grief or disappointment cause you to miss out on the miraculous!

Matthew 14:10 So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. 11 And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother. 12 Then his disciples came and took away the body and buried it, and went and told Jesus. ]13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself.

This is a powerful story. Jesus just heard of John the Baptist’s death and pulled away to be alone and grieve. There is certainly nothing wrong with that, but check out what happened next.

13 but when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. 14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

In the midst of his hurt and pain, Jesus was still able to flow in the compassion of God and heal people. Later on that day he multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the people. So often in our lives we go through grief, failure, and setbacks. It’s ok to experience grief and sadness and need to process through things. But don’t stay there too long. If Jesus would have stayed in his grief and not looked around to the possibilities around him, He would have missed some miracles destined for Him to perform that day.

The Bible says that answered prayer releases joy in the life of the believer. In the midst of disappointment look for new opportunities for the power of God to flow so your joy can again be full.
